Coronavirus In India: Paytm Employee Who Returned From Italy Tests Positive In Gurugram

Digital payment giant Paytm in an official statement said that one of its employees in Gurugram has tested positive for novel coronavirus, reports LiveMint.

The employee undertook a vacation in Italy, one of the worst-hit countries from coronavirus, and had recently returned to India.

The company also announced shutting all its six offices in Delhi-NCR region for two days to ensure safety of it employee and check further growth of coronavirus.

"One of our colleagues based out of Gurgaon office who recently returned from Italy post a vacation has sadly been tested positive for Coronavirus. He is receiving appropriate treatment and we are extending complete support to his family. As a precautionary measure, we have suggested his team members to get health tests done immediately,” a Paytm spokesperson was quoted as saying by the report.

He further added, “We have also advised all our colleagues to work from home for a couple of days while we get our offices sanitized. However, there will not be any impact on our daily operations and Paytm services will continue as usual."

This marks the 29th confirmed case of coronavirus in the country.
