Coronavirus: Maruti Suzuki Partners With AgVa Healthcare; To Deliver 10,000 Ventilators By May-End

Automobile sector behemoth, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) made public on Friday (24 April) that by the end of May, it would roll out 10,000 ventilators in a partnership with AgVa Healthcare, which is an approved manufacturer of ventilators in India, reports Asian News International (ANI).
The 10,000 ventilators are a part of the first order that MSIL and AgVa healthcare have received. Meanwhile, it should be noted that the first ventilator was built on 11 April, within 10 days of the two companies having joined forces to boost the domestic manufacturing of ventilators which are in great demand.
As per MSIL's Chairman RC Bhargava, the Government had reached out to the automobile giant seeking help in the manufacturing of ventilators to bolster the nation's capacity to fight COVID-19. Following the same MSIL joined forces with AgVa Healthcare which is a new and small startup with small production capacity.
It should be noted that since the signing of MoU on 30 march, the combine has already manufactured 1,250 ventilators till date. Furthermore, as per Bhargava, the production rate has already risen to 250-300 ventilators a day, which is further likely to be scaled up to 400 ventilators a day.
