Vice President Venkaiah Naidu today (11 February) stopped AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Gupta while he attempted to question the government by citing a 2020 Democracy Report authored by Sweden's V-Dem report.
Vice President Naidu took objection to the use of the Swedish report by saying, "Which report is this, how is Sweden, V-Dem relevant to us, quoting some report from somewhere. This is all political..the countries which are commenting about internal affairs of India should look inwards".
Vice President Naidu's comments assume significance in light of foreign celebrities and nations commenting on the controversial Delhi border farmer protests.
This has included personalities like Rihanna and Greta Thunberg supporting the protesters in accordance with the agenda set via a leaked toolkit.
Even Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had "expressed concern" over the farmer protests in December. He called up Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday seeking Covid-19 vaccines for his country.
