COVID-19: Nashik, Nagpur, Pune And Mumbai Record Highest Tally Of Fresh Cases Per Million Population Over Past Month

Amid the ongoing upsurge of COVID-19 cases in India, four cities of the Maharashtra have emerged as the worst-hit cities in terms of the fresh cases per million population over the last month, reports Economic Times.

Nashik has reported the most fresh cases per million population in the last one month, followed by Nagpur, Pune and Mumbai. While Delhi stands as the ninth worst-hit city. Further, other cities which stand among the top ten worst-affected cities include Lucknow, Bangalore, Bhopal, Indore and Patna.

Nashik has recorded 46,050 new cases per million population, followed by Nagpur's 45,856. Pune's tally stands at 36,359 cases per million population and that of Mumbai at 17,946.

In the case of Lucknow, the tally stands at 11,987 and for Delhi, the figure stands at 6,800 fresh cases per million population.

Meanwhile, it should be noted that in terms of the absolute number of cases, Mumbai tops the list with the addition of 3.7 lakh new infections between 16 March and 16 April.
