The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday (7 July) recovered two bombs from the home of arrested terror suspect Habibur Rehman in Chikkabanavara, which is located on the outskirts of Bengaluru. This raid was in connection into the probe of Burdwan blast that took place in 2014, report The News Minute.

Habibur Rahman is believed to be a member of the banned Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) and was arrested for his alleged involvement in the Burdwan blasts of 2014.

Habibur Rehman was arrested by a team of NIA from Kolkata on 25 June in Doddaballapura.

On 25 June, the NIA had recovered two crude bombs under a bridge near a stormwater drain in Karnataka’s Ramanagara district a day after Rehman was arrested.

As per NIA, Rehman had also travelled to Tamil Nadu where he is believed to have stayed while he was on the run after his alleged involvement in preparing a crude bomb that exploded while being assembled, killing two people and injuring many.
