The Hazrat Nizamuddin Metro station of Delhi Metro will be one of the Metro network’s major transit hubs reports Metro Rail News.
The station would provide direct connectivity with the Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station as well as the Sarai Kale Khan Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT).
The station will have an ISBT at Sarai Kale Khan and dedicated entry/exit points connecting to the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway station. One of the entry/exit points will be 50 close Sarai Kale Khan ISBT. The other entry/exit point will be near the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway station approximately at a distance of 150 metres.
The nearest Metro stations to both Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway station and the Sarai Kale Khan ISBT are at least 3 to 4 kilometres away. This station is touted to improve connectivity between the two.
Ample greenery and beautification have been done around the underground station, and tabletop pedestrian crossings have been provided on the roads in the vicinity for the movement of the pedestrians.
The Metro station will also have drop-off bays near its three entry/exit points according to the Multi-Modal Integration (MMI) plan. The station also adorns artworks that portrays the historical heritage of the locality. Thematic impressions and ‘jharokhas’ have also been used in the beautification of the station.
The Hazrat Nizamuddin is the third biggest railway terminus of the national capital after New Delhi and Delhi. The Sarai Kale Khan ISBT is one of three major bus terminus of Delhi Buses plies various locations in Haryana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
