Delhi: Two Pakistan High Commission Officials With Fake Aadhaar Card Caught Carrying Out Espionage Against India

The Indian Government has decided to expel two officials of the Pakistan High Commission after they had been nabbed by the law enforcement authorities whilst engaging in espionage activities, reports Hindustan Times.

It has been reported that the special cell of the Delhi Police had detained three officials of the Pakistani mission at Karol Bagh's Bikanervala Chowk in New Delhi at 10.45 am on Sunday (31 May) while they were obtaining classified documents on Indian security establishment from an Indian national and handing over cash and an iPhone to him.

Upon being caught, the three had tried to assert that they were Indian nationals and presented the officials with fake Aadhaar cards. However, during the interrogation, they spilled their true identities and confirmed that they worked for Pakistan's nefarious Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

The three have been identified as Abid Hussain Abid, 42, an assistant in the Pakistani mission, Mohammad Tahir Khan, 44, a clerk, and Javed Hussain, 36, a driver. All of the three had been under surveillance for the past few months.

Following the development, the Government has issued orders to expel and send pack Abid and Khan who were both working in the High Commission's visa section since December 2018 and October 2015 respectively.

The government declared both these officials “persona non grata for indulging in activities incompatible with their status as members of a diplomatic mission and asked them to leave the country within 24 hours.”
