United States President Donald J. Trump who said he’d been a lifelong teetotaller jokingly added that he would be the “world’s worst” mess if he would be a drunkard, reported The New Indian Express.
The President, who according to many is a brash, loud and provocative world leader, made these remarks at a press conference while answering questions asked by journalists regarding Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s controversy.
"I'm not a drinker, and I can honestly say I never had a beer in my life -- it's one of my only good traits," Trump said jokingly.
"Can you imagine if I had? What a mess I would be. I would be the world's worst." he said.
Trump was responding to journalists about his Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh who is facing serious allegation of sexual assault by Dr Christine Blasey Ford during his high school years. Kavanaugh has been accused of heavy drinking and assaulting women.
Trump has been defending his Supreme Court nominee against these charges, and has ordered a limited FBI investigation recently in the case before the US Senate votes on Kavanaugh nomination to the US Supreme court.
Trump said that while Kavanaugh may not be “perfect with respect to alcohol,” he knows opposition Democrat senators who are not exactly “angels”.
Kavanaugh’s nomination is important for Trump as the Judge would tilt the balance of US Supreme Court towards the conservative side for years to come.
