The Ministry of Culture will organise an e-Auction of gifts and mementos received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from tomorrow (17 September) onwards.
The memorabilia include sports gear and equipment of the medal winning Olympians and Paralympians, replica of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, Chardham, Rudraksh Convention Centre, models, sculptures, paintings, angavastras among others, the Ministry of Culture said in a statement on Thursday (16 September).
The ministry has further asked the persons or organisations interested in buying the memorabilia to participate in the e-Auction through the website https://pmmementos.gov.in.
The e-auction will be conducted on the website from 17 September to 7 October.
It should be noted that the auction is beginning on 17 September, the birthday of PM Modi.
The ministry also informed that the proceeds from the e-auction of the gifts will go to the Namami Gange Mission, which is aimed at conserving and rejuvenating the holy river Ganga.
Earlier last year, Rs 3.40 crore was collected by auctioning gifts received by PM Modi. The proceeds from the auction were also donated to the Namami Gange Mission.
