An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 at Richter Scale jolted parts of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in the early hours of Tuesday (16 June), The Economic Times reported. No damage to life and property was reported, according to officials.
They added, the epicentre of the quake was not in India but Tajikistan, and the tremors were experienced at around 7:00am.
The tremors were felt in several parts of the valley including Srinagar, Kishtwar and Doda districts, the reported added.
This is the third earthquake to have hit J&K in past three days.
