Fadnavis Government Explores The Possibility Of 42 Km Long Versova-Virar Sea Link

The Maharashtra state government has asked the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) to come up with a feasibility study on building 42-km long Versova-Virar sea link reports Hindustan Times.
The proposed bridge will connect the sea link to the mainland at Otters Club in Bandra, Juhu Koliwada in Juhu and Nana Nani Park in Versova.
“Now that we have awarded the contract for the Versova-Bandra sea link, the state cabinet has directed us to go conduct a feasibility study for the extension up to Virar. Louis Berger Group has been asked to look at the techno-economic feasibility. The report is likely to come by the year-end,” said Radheshyam Mopalwar, vice-chairman and managing director, MSRDC.
The bridge will open in September 2023 and will reduce the journey time between Versova and Worli to 15 minutes. The proposed sea link duplicates the coastal road plan to decongest roads in suburban Mumbai, Mopalwar said MSRDC would consult the BMC during the planning.
Louis Berger, who were the consultants for the Versova-Bandra Sea Link (VBSL), will be undertaking a feasibility study on having another connector between Bandra Fort and the sea link, and extending the connectors at Juhu Koliwada and Nana Nani Park to Western Express Highway.
