Fangs Of Radical Islam: 75 Per Cent Of Terrorists Neutralised in Kashmir Valley In 2019 So Far Are Locals

As per the Jammu and Kashmir police, of the 101 terrorists killed in the Kashmir valley in 2019 so far, 76 were locals who had joined ranks with the Pakistan based terror groups, reports The Hindu.
It should be noted that this is the first time in more than two decades that the number of locals killed in police encounters has grown over the tally of foreign terrorists killed. Last year (2018), of the total 246 terrorists killed in police encounters, 60 per cent (150) were locals.
Meanwhile, Governor Satya Pal Malik underscored that the terrorists are fatigued and frustrated at the moment. Malik emphasized that in 2016 when Burhan Wani was killed, there was unrest in the Kashmir valley for three months, while when Zakir Musa was gunned down a few days ago, there unrest hardly lasted three days.
Aforementioned Musa was the chief of the al-Qaeda affiliated Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, and had previously been successor to Burhan Wani after his death.
The state police believes that there has been a sharp decline in the militant recruitment in 2019 as only 33 locals had joined various terror groups till 25 May 2019, while the figure for all of 2018 stood at 200 such individuals.
