The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that the entry and exit points of Jama Masjid and Lal Quila stations have been shut down following the violence at the farmers’ tractor rally in the national capital on 26 January.
Moreover, the average waiting time at Saket metro stations is 35 minutes whereas all other stations are functioning, Mint reports.
The entrance and departure gates of at least 20 metro stations including the ITO one and those on the grey line were closed down amidst the volatile farmers’ agitation on Tuesday.
Moreover, the Delhi traffic police declared earlier today that the flower and fruit mandis in Ghazipur along with National Highway 9 and National Highway 24 have been shut down.
Those wanting to travel to Ghazipur from Delhi have been asked to take the Karkari Mor, Shahdara and DND routes. The police deployment at the Red Fort has been ramped up as a ‘Nishan Sahib’ flag was unfurled at the historic monument on Tuesday.
So far, 22 FIRs have been registered regarding the large-scale disruption yesterday in which over 300 Delhi Police personnel are reported to have been injured.
