Inside the Hyderabad Metro (@RahulGande/Facebook)
The Hyderabad Metro Rail is getting ready to make provisions for emergency medical services to be delivered on its Metro Network since it is steadily emerging as the fastest way of getting across the city, reports Deccan Chronicle.
The Hyderabad Metro rail authority, the L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited (L&THMRL), is reportedly in discussion with the hospitals to transport patients via the metro network.
L&T’s chief operation officer Anil Saini stated that discussions with a medical ambulance service, e-Sahai, are also ongoing with the start-up having conducted a site survey for the emergency vehicles’ parking and supporting infrastructure in the metro stations.
Saini added that the emergency service provider is in discussions with the hospitals to operationalise the service.
According to the report, the flagship product of MyInd MedTech Innovations Private Limited, e-Sahai is a Hyderabad based technology start-up that offers a range of health care services to urban and rural populations.
e-Sahai provides a technology platform for delivering emergency medical services, speciality diagnostic services, data analytics and value added services to patients and other consumers in the ecosystem. The service also helps in transporting senior and disabled citizens.
The start-up’s founder, Hari Bharadwaj said, “We are working with hospitals and will have concrete results by the first quarter of next year. We’ve done one sampling of transporting a patient, and the results were certainly faster than by road.”
