Final Survey Of Noida International Airport Land To Begin Soon

Three Stakeholders, Yamuna International Airport, Noida International Airport and the Noida administration, will soon start the survey of the land that has been acquired for the Noida International Airport, reports Times of India.
The survey will be undertaken to finalise the boundary wall, as last year's fencing was slightly different from the map approved for the project.
The periphery of the airport, spread over 1,334 hectares, was demarcated through May and June last year.
“The idea was to demarcate the land before a permanent boundary wall was erected and allow the villagers to reap the harvest. But now, it is time to construct the wall. A final survey is underway and representatives of all three stakeholders will approve it jointly,” said Balram Singh, ADM (land acquisition).
The construction work for the upcoming airport project started last week on Monday (23 August) in Uttar Pradesh’s Jewar.
“We have commenced preparatory work at the construction site of the airport after getting approvals from all the relevant authorities. We are also thankful to the UP government in providing us full support to expedite work at the airport site,” read a statement from Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL).
YIAPL is a 100 per cent owned subsidiary of Zurich Airport International. It has been incorporated to develop the Noida International Airport in Jewar.
“We allowed the company to construct a boundary wall at the site. Gradually the construction of a site office and an air traffic control building too will start,” Arun Vir Singh, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL), told Hindustan Times.
The first phase of the project has to be completed by 2023. However, the timeline, formulated before the Covid-19 pandemic struck, may see some changes.
When the first phase becomes operational, the Jewar International Airport will handle around 12 million passengers every year.
The project will be spread over an area of 5,000 hectares and may have six to eight runways.
