According to a new LinkedIn survey, Walmart-owned e-commerce company Flipkart has been ranked as the most preferred workplace in India for 2019, followed by its rival Amazon and hospitality startup Oyo Rooms, reports CNBC.
The ‘2019 Top Companies’ list for India was published by Microsoft-owned business and employment-oriented network LinkedIn. The fourth edition of the list is based on feedback from LinkedIn’s more than 54 million users in India.
The study accounted for four main pillars - interest in the company; engagement with employees; job demand; and employee retention - to rank the companies.
Unsurprisingly, internet companies dominated the top 10 spots. While digital payments and e-commerce brand Paytm came in at fourth, global transportation startup Uber made its entry into the list at the fifth spot.
Online food delivery startups Swiggy and Zomato were ranked sixth and eighth, respectively. The first legacy organisation to be ranked in the list was IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) which took the seventh spot.
While Alphabet (which owns Google) came in at the ninth rank, Mukesh Ambani-led oil-to-energy conglomerate Reliance Industries occupied the tenth place.
Established Firms Getting Better
“This year, half the companies are new entrants on the list, including IT giants such as TCS and IBM that showcase the changing job and hiring landscape,” said LinkedIn India Managing Editor Adith Charlie.
"The presence of more blue chip Indian companies such as Larsen & Toubro and Reliance Industries, among others emphasises the fact that these large firms are getting better at attracting millennials employees," Charlie added.
