Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) politician and veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha has said that he is ‘fortunate enough’ that his name hasn’t come out in the #MeToo movement despite what he has done.

“I call myself fortunate that in today’s times, despite everything that I have done, my name hasn’t come out in the #MeToo movement. Hence, I listen to my wife and often take her as a shield with me so that even if there’s nothing, I can show, ‘I am happily married, my life is good,'” said Sinha.

Speaking at the at the launch of debutant author Dhruv Somani’s ‘A Touch of Evil’ Sinha said that behind every successful man there is a woman, but in today’s #MeToo era, behind every successful man’s downfall is a woman, reports Indian Express.

Defending himself, Shatrughan said “Don’t take it otherwise. Please take it with the plain sense of humour. I highly applaud and appreciate the women who, better late than never, have come forward. I salute their courage and guts.”
