A London court has issued an arrest warrant against fraud accused diamond merchant Nirav Modi, ANI has reported.
The arrest warrant was reportedly issued by the Westminister court against Nirav Modi who has been accused of a Rs 14,000 crore Punjab National Bank fraud.
A few days earlier media organisations had tracked down Nirav Modi while he was roaming on the streets of London. He was also seen wearing an Ostrich leather jacket worth Rs 9 lakh while he repeatedly refused to answer questions by a reporter.
Reports have claimed that Nirav Modi is living in a 33 stories Centre Point apartment complex in London’s Theatre District. The property he is currently residing is said to be worth $8 million.
Meanwhile India has already requested for Nirav Modi’s extradition and as assured by External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar, is making strong efforts to bring back the fugitive. An Interpol red-corner notice has also bee issued against him.
