Gujarat Reaches Out To Odisha For Guidance To Tackle Cyclone Vayu

With stringent warnings been issued across the state of Gujarat about the ensuing cyclone 'Vayu', the Vijay Rupani led Gujarat Government has reached out to their Odia peers on the eastern coast of India to prepare itself better, reports Hindu BusinessLine.
The Gujarat Chief Secretary J N Singh on Tuesday (11 June) informed the media persons that the officials from the state administration were in touch with their counterparts in Odisha to learn from their experiences in tackling the devastating cyclone Fani which had thrashed the state of Odisha last month (May).
Singh further stressed that they will be taking useful inputs from Odisha where the state and central administration were prepared to tackle the cyclone impact.
It should be noted that cyclone Fani was one of the worst cyclonic storms in the recent history which destroyed over 20,000 villages in Odisha's coastal districts affecting more than 1.6 crore people. The effective and deft preparedness and the prompt relief measures helped contain the death toll to sixty-four.
