Haryana Government Announces Three New Medical Colleges In Yamunanagar, Sirsa And Kaithal Districts

In a major push for the medical education sector in the State of Haryana, the State Government led by Chief Minister (CM) Manohar Lal Khattar announced on Monday (10 February) the establishment of three new medical colleges in three districts of the State, reports Asian News International (ANI).

The three colleges will come up in the districts of Yamunanagar, Kaithal and Sirsa at a cost of about Rs 1,000 crore. This would take the tally of new medical colleges opened in the State under the tenure of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government to 13.

The development was made public by State's Health Minister Anil Vij who also shared that the colleges will be developed in collaboration with the Union Government. Vij also shared that the State government aims to get the new colleges activated and working by 2023.

Vij also shared that the construction of four other medical colleges in Mahendragarh, Jind, Gurugram and Bhiwani, which were approved during the previous tenure of the CM Khattar's Government are underway. Meanwhile, six other medical colleges had been operationalised by the Government in its previous term.
