Hathaway cable set-top box (Facebook)
Cable TV operator Hathway has now gone the Tata Sky route to discontinue its Multi-TV plan, which means that the subscribers would now be required to pay the complete network capacity fee (NCF), Telecom Talk has reported.
Hathway has now announced that the NCF for the secondary and subsequent TV connections would now have to be paid in full. The revised price will stand at Rs 130 per month.
Like Tata Sky, Hathway has also thrown in a sweetener for its customers by announcing that they would now be able to independently choose channels for the secondary connection as opposed to the previous practice of being forces to choose the same channels for multiple TV connections.
This new charge of Rs 130 would cover 100 standard definition (SD) channels and an additional Rs 20 would be charged for every 25 SD channels added subsequently.
It was earlier reported that Tata Sky had first announced that it would discontinue its Multi TV plan from 15 June and later introduced a new service called ‘Room TV’. Under this service, subscribers were provided flexibility to choose their own channels on second TV connection thereby potentially saving them costs.
Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
