A scene from the film Dangal
The social media manager of Zaira Wasim has claimed that the Dangal actor’s social media accounts were hacked and that she did not write the posts announcing her decision to quit acting, NewsX has reported.
Wasim had made news yesterday (1 July) when a long message was posted on her social media accounts in which it was announced that she had decided to quit acting as it was threatening her relationship with Islam.
In the message, Zaira had purportedly said that Bollywood was leading her towards a path of ignorance and she silently, unconsciously was transitioning out of her Imaan (faith on belief). She also said that she was continuing to put herself in a vulnerable position which could damage her relationship with Allah.
Subsequently, Wasim was criticised in various quarters for her views but in a twist in the tale, her manager has claimed a cyber attack on her social media profiles, so much so that the associate has denied that she wrote the post.
This has led to many questioning whether Wasim has indeed decided to quit acting/Bollywood or the whole news was concocted by the alleged hackers.

Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
