The Tablighi Jamaat’s transgressions are hampering India’s fight against coronavirus pandemic.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has written to states instructing them to trace Rohingyas who attended the Tablighi Jamaat event in Nizamuddin Markaz and Haryana’s Mewat last month, Times of India senior editor Bharti Jain has reported.

As per Jain, the Home Ministry letter states that there is a possibility of the Rohingyas contracting Covid-19 thereby necessitating their contact tracing.

It has been claimed that Rohingyas living in Shaheen Bagh and camps in Hyderabad had gone to attend the Tablighi Jamaat event in Mewat and Delhi’s Nizamuddin Markaz. Rohingyas living in Derabassi, Punjab and Jammu are also said to have attended the event. Those Rohingyas living in Shaheen are yet to reportedly return back home.
