Individuals who are taking the metro to New Delhi railway station won’t need to cross crowded lanes to get to the platforms as the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) in a year from now, will construct a 225-meter skywalk, which would be an augmentation of the FOB (foot overbridge) inside the rail route station.
The skywalk will take commuters specifically to the Delhi Metro station, the Airport Express Line, autorickshaw lanes and parking areas, Financial Express reports.
A DMRC representative was cited in the report saying that the outline of the skywalk has been completed and a tender will be floated to manufacture a FOB to connect the New Delhi metro station with the railway station. He added that the current FOB at the railway station will be stretched out to the metro station. The skywalk will link the metro station’s gate numbers 2, and 5 and also the elevator at gate number 5 will be integrated with it.
Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
