The terminal can be accessed from Shamshabad and Srisailam sides of the airport's main approach road. For the convenience of passengers, a free shuttle service has been arranged between the existing terminal and the IIDT. This service will be available at regular intervals.

In a statement, the airport operator, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) said that passengers travelling on Air India International flights AI 127, AI 952, AI 978, AI 988, AI 966 and AI 051 are advised to report at the IITD. Some of the domestic flights may use the same terminal.
