In a boost for Hyderabad commuters, the city’s metro services are being run at a gap of just six minutes during peak hours especially on the high demand stretch between Miyapur and LB Nagar, reports Metro Rail News.
This was confirmed by L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad which declared that the six-minute frequency routine is being implemented on the Miyapur-LB Nagar course between 8 am to 12 pm and 5 pm to 9 pm. The service frequency amid non-peak hours has been reduced to 7 minutes from the earlier gap of 8 minutes.
When it comes to infrastructure, most of the stations on the Ameerpet-Hitec City Metro Rail line are yet to get staircases and lifts. This has led to the conclusion that work on the Hitec City route would take more time. The leftover work also includes train reversal facility at Cyber Towers and construction of piers till the station.
Andhra Pradesh, Telangana Governor E S L Narasimhan had earlier asked the metro authorities to start Ameerpeet-Hitec City services from December but it might see a soft launch in January instead.
