Hyderabad Metro Zooms Ahead Again With LB Nagar Station Recording Highest Ever Footfalls

Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) registered its highest footfalls ever in the newly inaugurated LB Nagar station and has overtaken the previous record holder Ameerpet, Metro Rail News has reported.

The report stated that the two stations saw 30,000 footfalls on an average. 14,145 people used the LB Nagar Metro station while 13,974 used the Ameerpet station.

Both the corridors saw 55O trips per day with the Miyapur to LB Nagar line seeing a frequency of 21 trains, with one train every 3.15 minutes during peak hours and 8 minutes during non-peak hours while Nagole – Ameerpet line saw one train every 6:30 minutes respectively.

The statement was announced by the HMR Managing Director, NVS Reddy on Tuesday after a meeting to ascertain the future of the metro and deal with growing demands of passengers.

The most bustling corridor in the city, 16-km Ameerpet – LB Nagar line commenced operations last month along one of the busiest corridors in the city. The Hyderabad Metro has become India’s second largest metro rail network after Delhi, with the 46-km length operational.
