Hyundai Kona Electric SUV With A Range Of 300 Km To Be Launched In India Come July

South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Limited is looking to bring new car models to India this year. The company will also bring its first electric vehicle, the Kona SUV, in July to the country. The car will be a completely knock-down (CKD) form and will be assembled at the Hyundai plant in Chennai, reports The Tribune.

The company is also set to introduce a brand new Grand i10 which according to the company will be full model change variant of an existing small car and will be hitting the market before the festival season.

Speaking on the same, Senior General Manager and group head (Marketing) Puneet Anand said “We are constantly adding new products in our portfolio for the Indian market. We will launch our electric SUV 'Kona' in India in July.”

The Indian version of Kona will come with a wide choice of engine options, a 39.2 kWh battery-powered electric motor that can travel 300 km in a single charge, another 99kWk powered vehicle that can hit 0-100 kmph in 9.2 seconds with 395 Nm of torque touching 155 kmph.
