In three weeks, Amazon India has completed vaccinating over one lakh people, including its frontline associates, employees, and dependents.

To cover more workforce, the company plans to extend the vaccination drive to new cities and towns from the current 26 cities, including Ludhiana, Ranchi and Raipur.

"In line with our efforts to ensure the health & safety of our teams, we have made vaccination a ready choice for all of our employees, partners, sellers and their dependents. This also ties back to our commitment towards the safety of our people, customers and the communities we operate in," Abhinav Singh, Director, Amazon Transportation Services, said.

Amazon India is also offering COVID-19 specific benefits and support systems to frontline workers and their eligible dependents, including salary advance, COVID-19 special leave, isolation facility support, etc., reports The Economic Times.

Already, the company is paying up to Rs 750 as special pay to frontline employees who choose to get vaccinated.

The Jeff Bezos-led company is hosting on-site vaccination events run by licensed health care providers.

"Every employee is our priority. We have started the vaccine event with those on the frontline, delivering to our customers and will continue to expand when vaccines become more available," the company said.
