India And Pakistan Set To Sign Agreement On Kartarpur Corridor This Week; India Urges Pakistan To Remove $20 Fee

The agreement on the much talked about Kartarpur Corridor is set to be inked between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and India on Wednesday (23 October) or Thursday (24 October), even as Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan announced that Pakistan will inaugurate the corridor on 9 November.
Pakistan handed the final draft of the proposed bilateral agreement on Kartarpur to India on Monday (21 October).
It has retained the $20 fee for every pilgrim from India visiting the Kartarpur Gurdwara, the final resting place of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism.
India has urged Pakistan not to levy the $20 on pilgrims and refused to make it part of the draft. Pakistan has however accepted India's demand to allow devotees of other faiths - Hindus, Christians, Zoroastrians, et cetera - to visit Baba Guru Nanak Dev's final resting place.
Every day 5,000 pilgrims will be allowed to visit the holy site. India will share the list of pilgrims 10 days before their visit. Pakistan will verify the list and finalise it four days before their visit.
The agreement to be signed either at Zero Point of Lahore's Wagah border or the Kartarpur border.
