The Directorate General Of Civil Aviation (DGCA) monthly data claimed that the number of passengers commuting through airlines had risen by 18.3 per cent in the month of June, The Hindu has reported.
Budget carrier Spicejet had the highest passenger load factor at 93.3 per cent among commercial airlines. It was followed by Go Air (88.6 percent), Indigo (88.4 per cent) and Vistara (84.8 per cent). Passenger load factor refers to the capacity utilisation of a air carrier.
Further, the DGCA report said: "passengers carried by domestic airlines during Jan-Jun 2018 were 684.83 lakhs as against 561.55 lakhs during the corresponding period of the previous year thereby registering a growth of 21.95%".
The report added that Indigo had the most punctual air service with 84.1 per cent of its flights departing and arriving on time. Indigo was followed by Spicejet (81.2 per cent), Jet Airways (78.8 per cent), and Vistara (78.2 per cent) in terms of punctuality.
