India Rolling Out Faceless Tax Assessment System To End Harassment In Tax Collection: PM Modi In Bangkok

Speaking at Aditya Birla Group's 50th anniversary of operations in Thailand, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi highlighted on Sunday (3 November) that India was rolling out a faceless tax assessment system which would mark an end to harassment in tax collection, reports The Economic Times.

Promoting India as one of the most attractive investment hotspots on the global map, PM Modi highlighted the major reforms launched by the Government of India over the last five years, stressing that India had stopped working in a routine bureaucratic manner and was undergoing transformative changes.

Highlighting the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and recent corporate tax cuts, PM Modi appraised the gathering that India had one of the most people-friendly tax regimes in the world, and that the government was working on further improving the system. PM Modi specifically highlighted how the rollout of the GST had resulted in the economic integration of the nation.

He further said, "In today's India, the contribution of the hard-working taxpayer is cherished."
