India's Covid-19 Tally Rises To 4.73 Lakh With Record 16,922 New Cases, Death Toll Surges To 14,894

With the highest single-day spike of 16,922 new cases in the last 24 hours, the Covid-19 tally in India has surged to 473,105, the Union Health Ministry data revealed on Thursday (25 June).
According to the Health Ministry, of the total, 186,514 are active cases while at least 271,697 people have been cured of the disease.
The number of Covid-19 death toll in the country has increased from Wednesday's 14,476 to 14,894, an increase of 418 in the last 24 hours.
Maharashtra, which has emerged as the worst Coronavirus-hit state in the country, has so far recorded 142,900 cases, including 6,739 fatalities, and 73,792 recoveries. The Covid-19 tally in Delhi has crossed the 70,000-mark with as many as 70,390 cases recorded so far, second-highest tally in the country. Tamil Nadu followed with 67,468 cases. Gujarat has reported 28,943 cases so far.
States with most casualties after Maharashtra are Delhi (2,365), Gujarat (1,735), Tamil Nadu (866), Uttar Pradesh (596), West Bengal (591), and Madhya Pradesh (534).
States with more than 10,000 cases are Uttar Pradesh (19,557), Rajasthan (16,009), West Bengal (15,173), Madhya Pradesh (12,448), Haryana (12,010), Telangana (10,444), Andhra Pradesh (10,331) and Karnataka (10,118).
Among other states/UTs where Corona cases have surged past 2,000-mark are Bihar (8,209), Jammu and Kashmir (6,422), Assam (6,198), Odisha (5,752), Punjab (4,627), Kerala (3,603), Uttarakhand (2,623), Chhattisgarh (2,419) and Jharkhand (2,207).
According to the Health Ministry, 8,493 cases are being re-assigned to states.
