India's Pharma Industry Is Capable Of Producing Covid-19 Vaccine For The Entire World: Bill Gates

Billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates has expressed high confidence in the Indian pharmaceutical industry by stating that it is capable of producing a Covid-19 vaccine not just for India but for the entire world, Press Trust of India has reported.
Gates while speaking on a Discovery Plus documentary titled Covid-19: India’s War Against The Virus, Gates said that India's pharmaceutical industry is already the largest supplier of vaccines in the world with the pack being led by the Serum Institute. Other notable suppliers include Bio E and Bharat (Biotech).
"I am excited that the pharmaceutical industry there (India) will be able to produce (Covid-19 vaccine) not just for India but also for the entire world", Gates was quoted as saying.
Gates added that India has already contributed a lot to the fight against Covid-19 and its pharma industry is working on the Covid-19 vaccine while tapping into its existing disease tackling capabilities.
Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is partnering with the department of biotechnology, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the office of the principal scientific adviser to provide technical know-how over its participation in the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI).
