India’s Second Largest Passenger Car Maker Hyundai To Resume Operations In Tamil Nadu Factories From Today

India's second-largest passenger vehicle manufacturer Hyundai Motor India Ltd is set to reopen its factories in the State of Tamil Nadu starting today (6 May) as the nation gradually expands the economic activity which had come to a grinding halt in the wake of COVID-19 induced nationwide lockdown, reports Livemint.
The automobile sector-major will begin the preparations in its factories from 6Mmay onwards to resume vehicle production in the weeks to come. The factories had remained under a state of closure since 22 March when the lockdown had first come into force.
During this course, Hyundai is said to have worked with its suppliers to create a set of standard operating procedures (SOPs) which would be needed to be followed once the manufacturing activity would resume.
While the nation's largest manufacturer of passenger vehicles Maruti Suzuki is gearing to resume manufacturing, MG Motor India, the country's newest entrant in the sector has already resumed the production of vehicles at its Gujarat based plant since the last week of April.
