‘Comedian’ Kunal Kamra (Facebook)
India’s popular low cost airline in a series of tweets on Tuesday evening (28 January) announced that it has suspended controversial ‘comedian’ Kunal Kamra from flying the airline for a period of six months after he harassed senior journalist Arnab Goswami on board a Mumbai to Lucknow flight.
IndiGo while tagging the Civil Aviation ministry informed that Kamra’s behaviour on board the flight was unacceptable and advised its passengers not to indulge in personal slander on board as it can potentially compromise the safety of fellow passengers.
Kamra himself earlier in the day had posted a video in which he could be seen harassing Arnab and repeatedly trying to provoke him by calling him a coward.
In an eyewitness account of the incident, a co-passenger claimed that off the camera Kamra even abused and threatened Arnab. Kamra’s behaviour also resulted in the pilot having to make a precautionary announcement mid-flight.
