The Delhi High Court on Friday (15 November) denied bail to former union minister and Congress leader P Chidambaram in the INX media money laundering case being probed by Enforcement Directorate, reports Hindustan Times.
Chidambaram had already secured bail in the CBI case.
Chidambaram is being probed for his alleged involvement in irregularities in granting the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) approval to INX Media during his term as the Finance Minister.
Earlier on 30 October, the court sent Chidambaram to judicial custody till 13 November. The court also allowed Chidambaram's request to have a separate cell, subject to availability, medicines and a western-style toilet.
The former finance minister was arrested on 21 August, and is currently lodged in Tihar Jail in judicial custody.
