Islamic Clerics Issue Fatwa Against Nusrat Jahan For Wearing Sindoor, Criticise Her For Not Marrying A Muslim

Islamic clerics have issued a fatwa against popular actor and Trinamool MP Nusrat Jahan for wearing sindoor and criticised her for not marrying a Muslim, Times Now has reported.
Deoband’s cleric Mufti Asad Wasmi was quoted as saying that their investigation had reveal that Jahan had married a Jain but as per Islam a “Muslim can only marry a Muslim”.
Wasmi proceeded to demean her profession by saying that “Nusrat Jahan is an actor and these actors do not care about religion. They do what they feel like doing. This is what she showcased in Parliament.”
He added that Jahan came to the Parliament wearing sindoor and mangalsutra and it was a waste of time to talk about it. He said that he merely wanted to convey to her Shariat’s stance on the matter.
Nusrat Jahan recently took oath as “Nusrat Jahan Ruhu Jain” in the name of Ishwar and ended it by chanting Vande Mataram. Jahan who recently married businessman Nikhil Jain wore bangles, sindoor and a bindi while sporting a saree.
