ISRO To Launch PSLV-C46 Carrying Radar Imaging Satellite RISAT-2B On 22 May Before Live Audience

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will launch its radar imaging satellite RISAT-2B upon the PSLV-C46 on 22 May 2019 from the First Launchpad (FLP) of Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR in Sriharikota.
The launch scheduled for 5:27 am given favourable weather conditions will be placing the satellite in an orbit 555 kilometres from the Earth at a 37-degree inclination. Once operational the RISAT-2B will be capable of monitoring the weather day and night in all weather conditions, reports Firstpost.
The launch will be aired live and can also be viewed by the general public in newly built Satish Dhawan Space Centre for which the registrations will begin five days before launch.
The PSLV C46 will be the space organisation’s 48 PSLV launch and 14th PSLV Core Alone (CA) mission; PSLV is India’s first launch vehicle to be equipped with liquid rocket stages, however PSLV-CA version does not come with six strap-on boosters typically akin with larger rockets but only uses four core stages of the PSLV to launch its payload into the orbit.
