Italian journalist Francesca Marino has hinted at the possible death of global terrorist Masood Azhar in a blast at a military hospital in Rawalpindi in June this year (2019).

Marino had earlier confirmed via her sources that around 130 to 170 terrorists died in the Balakot strike carried out by the Indian Air Force in February.

Now in an article written in ANI, Marino has come out with the details of the incident which she believes killed Azhar. The Jaish-e-Mohammed chief was believed to be receiving medical treatment kidney failure at the military hospital which was targeted in the attack.

Even though initial reports on social media suggested that at least a few individuals were injured in the incident, there was a total media blackout over its coverage, allegedly ordered by the Pakistani Army.

The blast was later claimed as caused by a faulty cylinder, according to the official version of what happened. However, anti-establishment voices in the country were quick to point out that the elimination of Azhar would have been of quite some benefit to Pakistan’s military establishment, which was facing increased pressure from India and world powers over its relations with proxy terrorist groups.
