Italy Reports Highest Single Day Tally Of Deaths Due To Coronavirus As 168 Lose Lives On Tuesday

Italy on Tuesday (10 March) recorded the highest number of single-day deaths as an outcome of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak with as many 168 patients taking their last breath yesterday, reports The Hindu.
The development has pushed the total figure of deaths outside of China past 1,000 mark to a total of 1,115 of whom a major share of 631 have died in Italy alone. It should also be noted that 10,149 have also been reported to be infected in Italy in just past two weeks.
Meanwhile, the Government of Italy has imposed a nation-wide ban on public gatherings, while also curbing travel until 3 April in a bid to contain the outbreak which has wreaked havoc on the European nation.
It should be noted that a whopping three-fourths of all deaths in Italy have been reported from Lombardy region around Milan. The officials have also warned that the hospitals in the region have begun to run out of beds.
