Gurugram: Rs 135 Crore Tender Floated To Hire General Consultant For 28.5Km Millennium City Centre To Cyber City Corridor

The Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) has floated a tender of Rs 135 crore for appointment of a general consultant for Millennium City Centre to Cyber City corridor.

The general consultant will oversee the entire project from start to finish, providing assistance in procurement, construction, management, testing, and commissioning.

According to available details, the tender was issued on 8 May after receiving approval from the Election Commission of India (ECI), with bids to be opened on 24 June.

The foundation stone for the Gurugram metro extension project was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 16 February this year. The project will extend the metro line from HUDA City Centre (now Millennium City Centre) to Cyber City via Old Gurgaon.

Estimated to cost Rs 5,452.72 crore, the 28.5-km-long elevated metro project will form a ring line through Gurugram and Old Gurugram via 27 stations. It will also include a 1.85-km spur from Basai Village to Dwarka Expressway.

This new line aims to connect parts of new Gurugram (HUDA City Centre, Cyber Park, Hero Honda Chowk) with the older parts of the city (Sector 10, Ashok Vihar, Palam Vihar) and spur economic activity in the area, according to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

Additionally, the interchange with the Delhi Metro’s Yellow Line at Millennium City Centre will provide direct connectivity between a large part of Gurugram and Delhi.

On 25 January this year, the Haryana government approved the formation of Gurugram Metro Rail Ltd, a joint venture between the Haryana government and the government of India, to execute the metro extension project.

Currently, the geo-technical survey of the project is being conducted by the consultant hired by GMRL.
