All the colleges and universities, both public and private sector ones are set to reopen in the Kashmir Valley by or before 9 October, reports Asian News International (ANI).
Kashmir division's Commissioner Baseer Ahmad Khan, while chairing a high-level meeting on Monday (1 October), instructed all the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and other concerned officers posted in the Valley to ensure the implementation of the order.
The meeting was held to review the logistical modalities for reopening of educational institutions in the Valley. Directives were issued in this respect to the higher authorities of the educational institutions as well.
Khan also directed the DCs to ensure that all the government and private-run schools up to the higher secondary level should be reopened in the Valley by Thursday (3 October) itself.
It should be noted that the medical and dental colleges in the Valley are already operating smoothly and the students enrolled in them are also appearing for examinations without any issue.
The DCs have also been instructed to send daily report regarding the smooth functioning of internet kiosks, set up for the convenience of the students, to the divisional commissoner’s office.
