In a major blow to Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), its senior commander, Munna Lahori was gunned down by the Indian security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district, reports Indian Express.

Responsible for a host of civilian killings in the Kashmir Valley, Lahori was also known for making improvised explosive devices (IEDs). As per the information revealed by the police, Lahori was also known to be engaged in carrying out recruitment for JeM in the region.

He was also the main perpetrator behind the partial car blast attack which took place on 30 March in the Banihal district of the Jammu and Kashmir state, which was followed by another car bomb blast in Arihal area of Pulwama district of the state on 17 June.

In the night-long operation in which the forces gunned down Lahori, they also killed down one of his local associates from the same outfit, JeM. It should be noted that Lahori was a Pakistani national operating in the region in the interest of JeM.
