Japanese Tech Giant NTT Acquires Six-Acre Land In Greater Noida To Build Data Centre

Japanese technology giant NTT Ltd is set to invest as much as Rs 1,000 crore to build a data centre in Uttar Pradesh's (UP's) Greater Noida, reports Economic Times.
The data centre would come upon a six-acre land which has been acquired by NTT Ltd in Techzone IV which is located in Greater Noida West. The data centre is a part of a 25-acre-big special economic zone (SEZ) which also houses the United States (US) based technology behemoth IBM. The data centre would require an electricity supply of 70 megawatts (MW).
NTT Ltd's Global Data Centre division had recently launched a new data centre in Mumbai and had previously also acquired domestic data centre firm Netmagic. It presently operates ten data centres across four major cities in the country.
The company plans to double the data centre capacity over the next two to three years and had earlier also stated that it would invest $2 billion in the country over the next four years to expand its business in India.
Meanwhile, realty major DLF has also leased 360,000 square feet at the upcoming Noida IT Park to Singapore-based ST Telemedia Global Data Centres. Mumbai based realty major Niranjan Hiranandani's Yotta Infrastructure has also stated that it would build a 20-acre-big data centre park in Greater Noida with an investment of Rs 7,000 crore. The park would house six interconnected data centres in total.
The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led State Government is also formulating a policy push to attract more investments from data centre builders in Noida.
