Jharkhand's Chief Minister (CM) Hemant Soren has refused the request put forward by the union government to send workers to the border areas along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) to boost the construction of road infrastructure in the strategically important areas, reports Times of India.

State government has cited the COVID-19 pandemic as the reason for the cancellation of the permission granted to the BRO.

The development comes at a time when the Indian and Chinese armies are engaged in simmering tensions over land and sovereignty issues dispute.
