Jio Fiber Impact? Existing Airtel Digital TV Customers To Get Big Discount On Upgrade To XStream Set Top Box

Existing customers of Airtel Digital TV are all set to get a big discount if they choose to upgrade to the newly launched Airtel XStream set top box, reports Telecom Talk.
For new customers the XStream set top box would be available at a price of Rs 3,999 but if existing HD and SD set top box users wish to get an XStream set top box, they would only have to pay Rs 2,249 including installation charges of Rs 250. This results in a saving of Rs 1,750 for the subscribers.
Every subscriber though would not be able to avail this offer as the XStream set top box is only available in cities like Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Panchkula, Chandigarh and Mohali.
As reported earlier, the XStream set top box is considered a direct rival to the DTH service of Jio Fiber.
The set top box would be capable of streaming DTH, OTT and IPTV content. Powered by a dual-core processor and 2 GB RAM, the STB would run on Android Pie. It also comes with an upgraded UI which hopes to provide a superior lag-free experience for the subscribers.
It can also be used as a gamepad and supports 4K. It comes with a smart voice support remote.
