In a shocking development, another Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) sarpanch has been shot dead in the Kashmir valley by the terrorists, reports Economic Times.

As per the report, BJP sarpanch Sajad Ahmad Khanday was shot outside his residence at Vessu village of Qazigund block in south Kashmir's Kulgam district on Thursday (6 August). He later succumbed to his injuries while he was rushed to the hospital.

The police officials stated that the terrorists had studied the area properly and fired at Sajad at close range.

The latest incident comes just a day after terrorists attacked another sarpanch in the state associated with BJP. The sarpanch Arif Ahmad Shah was shot at around 9.30 pm in Akhran area and was admitted to a hospital at Qazigund where his health condition is reportedly stable.

Last month on 8 June, a Kashmiri Pandit who was the sarpanch of a village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district was shot dead by terrorists near his residence.
