Former IAS officer-turned politician Shah Faesal’s detention under the Public Safety Act (PSA) has been extended by three more months by the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) administration, The Print reported on Thursday (14 May).
The report said the order of the extension came only hours before his current detention period was coming to end on Wednesday.
Faesal has been under detention since August 2019 after the central government scrapped the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir. He was, however, slapped with the PSA in February this year.
Earlier this month on 5 May, the Union Territory (UT) administration extended former chief minister (CM) Mehbooba Mufti's detention under the stringent PSA by another three months.
Mufti had been shifted to her home on 7 April after eight months of detention at two Government facilities which had been designated as sub-jails for that duration. The facilities included a government-run guest house in Chashma Shahi area and a bungalow on the Maulana Azad Road near Lal Chowk.
