Calming down the rhetoric of force to re-establish the Indian jurisdiction over the presently Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), Jammu and Kashmir's Governor Satya Pal Malik on Wednesday (18 September) said that bringing about transformational development in Jammu and Kashmir would be enough to manifest the desire, reports Asian News International (ANI).
Governor Malik said, "If we can give people respect and bring so much development here that its shine reaches even PoK, I guarantee you that there will be rebellion in PoK within a year and you will get it without going to any war. Every citizen of PoK will start saying that he wants to go to Kashmir."
Playing down the fiery statements made by some legislators with respect to winning back PoK using force, Governor Malik said, "Some of our ministers usually do not get a chance to speak on international affairs. They say they will occupy PoK. I say, if PoK is our target, then we can make it on the basis of J&K's development."
Governor Malik also promised that the Union Government was committed to ensuring all-out development of Jammu and Kashmir, in a manner that would supersede the expectations of the people.
Governor Malik made the prudential statement after laying the foundation stone for a host of power projects. The ceremony was also attended by the Union Minister for Power, RK Singh.
